The “Keren Or” center was born out of my work as an educational psychologist. In this role, I was exposed to the great need for a private treatment center that offers a variety of holistic treatments for patients. Over the years, I have seen the need for treatments for children, youth, parents, and adults, both professionally and personally, as I have sought treatment for my own children. Currently, there is no treatment center in Or Akiva that offers treatments for challenges such as attention deficit disorder, communication difficulties, developmental delays, grief and loss, or parenting challenges. The center is named “Keren Or” after my sister-in-law, Keren, who was an educator for children with autism. She died at the age of 32. The word “Or” means “light” in Hebrew, and it is a fitting name for a center that will bring light and hope to those who need it. I want to create a space where women can earn a living with dignity and share their wisdom with others. The loan will help me establish and operate the center, rent the space and build a website to equip the place with everything necessary to provide treatments to anyone who needs them. A little bit about me.. My name is Ester Sharabi Ifergan. I am married and a mother of four children. One of my children has learning disabilities, and the other three are receiving emotional treatment. I am very familiar with the need for supportive holistic treatments. I know that establishing this center is my calling.
