Our nursery is located in Moshava Kineret. We specialize in growing and selling houseplants, ornamental plants, and flower arrangements. Recently, the war has led to a shortage of manpower, which has affected our ability to maintain the greenhouse to an adequate standard. The loan will help us rehabilitate and expand the growing area, introduce new plant varieties, and develop and upgrade our infrastructure.

Micro lending, Macro Impact

Recently, the war has led to a shortage of manpower, which has affected our ability to maintain the greenhouse to an adequate standard. The management of our nursery has been significantly impacted by the war. Our manager, Ofir Shayt, a young woman in the last months of her pregnancy, has been unable to oversee daily operations. Additionally, her husband, an MP in the Golani Brigade, was actively engaged in combat in Gaza. During the war, we primarily cared for and supported our grandchildren, as all eligible family members were called up under Order 8. This situation severely affected our manpower, impacting the overall maintenance and operation of the nursery. The loan will help us rehabilitate and expand the growing area, introduce new plant varieties, and develop and upgrade our infrastructure.

My business - My spark

Our nursery is located in Moshava Kineret. We specialize in growing and selling houseplants, ornamental plants, and flower arrangements.  My grandfather, Avner, and his wife, Sara, founded our nursery over 50 years ago. Born here in the Kinneret settlement—one of the first eight families to settle the area—Grandpa Avner (née Kashna) initially established a farm in the early 1960s on the same land where our nursery stands today. They started by growing roses and cypresses, and gradually, the nursery evolved. Over time, we expanded to include flower arranging and added a gallery. Since its inception, our nursery has been a cherished family business, passed down through generations.

A few more words

My grandfather, Avner, and his wife, Sara, founded our nursery over 50 years ago. We took over the management of the nursery, which is a family business that has been going on for generations.
