We’re Alina and Roman. With this loan, we’ll expand our candle-making business, “No Dark,” which we started to show solidarity with Israel and bring light during difficult times through our handmade candles.
Micro lending, Macro Impact
Our candle business, "No Dark," began after October 7th, when we felt a need to express our support for Israel. We aim to create a welcoming space where people can learn the art of candle-making, connect, and find a sense of calm. This loan will help us rent a space for workshops, source local materials faster, and increase production to meet demand, especially given the logistical challenges caused by the war.
My business - My spark
We made aliyah from Russia in March 2023, inspired by our deep love for Israel and its people. Each candle we create reflects this bond and our desire to offer comfort and peace. The war has impacted our supply chain, but we’re committed to continuing our work, creating candles that bring warmth and connection.
A few more words
The war hit us just as we were starting to build our new life in Israel. After making aliyah, we also faced the challenge of switching careers—we both worked in marketing and film production. Candle-making became our way to find renewal and a sense of purpose. Now, through "No Dark," we want to share this journey with others, offering something meaningful.
