Bekol – Supporting Those with Hearing Loss

I’m Ilan, and Bekol is a nonprofit organization supporting people with hearing loss. This loan will allow me to keep offering essential services, from hearing aids to communication workshops, for everyone who needs them.

Micro lending, Macro Impact

The war has severely impacted my ability to help others. I work with people in Israel’s social periphery and disadvantaged populations, many of whom couldn’t hear the sirens. This loan will help me recover resources, continue my regular services, and provide much-needed support.

Leading Bekol has been a mission close to my heart. I believe deeply in the importance of inclusion and accessibility for everyone, especially those with disabilities. Inspired by my family’s legacy, I continue to ensure that people with hearing loss can access the services they need—whether it's audiology counseling, workshops, or emergency support.

A few more words

I come from a family with a history of helping others. My grandfathers inspired me—one by helping Holocaust survivors come to Israel, the other by working with at-risk youth. I’m continuing that legacy at Bekol, where we strive to ensure that people with hearing loss are supported, no matter the challenges they face.
