My business specializes in earthworks, haulage, and demolition. I have been self-employed for almost 9 years, but I have been in the industry since I enlisted. The war hurt my livelihood because there was a freeze in the construction field, leading to the closure of many sites and fewer projects to work on. Moreover, there was a shutdown of my workers, leaving me with insufficient working hands. On October 7, like many others in my area, my family and I had to evacuate. Furthermore, I have been in the reserves since then and continue to serve. I need help to keep the business going.
Micro lending, Macro Impact
As the recovery begins, we've started importing laborers from India, and my father is assisting me in the business while I serve in the reserves. Additionally, my commander has been supportive, allowing me to work outside reserve hours during this relatively calm period of the war. The loan I'm seeking is primarily for working capital, aimed at filling the gaps left by the war's impact. Our main objective is to rejuvenate the core operations of the business and replace the losses incurred during this challenging period.
